My work is inspired by the rich, colourful, natural forms found in marine life. The texture and glow of coral reefs and other sea creatures have influenced pieces like ‘Brainwave’, which explores the fine balance between the struggle for survival faced by the undersea coral beds and the impact of industrial pollution on such environments.
I work in a mix of glass techniques , translating the colour, forms and textures from the reef through blowing and centrifugal hot glass casting into unique, individually hand carved moulds to capture and express the splendour and paradox of survival in the finished objects.
